This is a very important position of Venus. The 7th house rules love affair, marriage proposals, actual marriage, married life, and relationship with spouse in post-marriage period. It rules quarrels between man and woman, or quarrel between persons of the same sex but relating to a third member (of the opposite sex). It also rules the private parts of the body. It rules appearance, personality, complex, built of body, facial formation, neat and clean or unclean habits, nature, to some extent education, and in a sense family background of the spouse.
It is pretty unfortunate that the Ancients have discussed at great length these qualities or lack of these qualities about a bride, but very little has been laid down about the bridegroom. Modem achaiyas have laid down some outlines about the bridegroom too, but the reality is that it needs a good deal of research, not by quacks but by knowledgeable, learned and experienced astrologers.
Presently astrologers depend to a great extent on their personal limited knowledge and experience to guide an individual, which may lead to maladjustment in marriage and then in rare cases, to ultimate failure of the marriage.
Another problem, at least in India where marriages are arranged, is that sometimes the parents or the mediatory person develop a preference for a particular choice, or the girl and the boy in question start to like one another irrespective of the whether the horoscopes match or not.
In such cases, it becomes difficult for the learned and impartial” astrologer to advise against the marriage if need be.
There are hundreds of cases within the knowledge of the authors, wherein such marriages conducted against the advice of the learned and impartial astrologer, unfortunately resulted in divorce or death of one of the married couple. (Of course, this observation holds good for the believers who seek astrological guidance.)
In their long experience, the authors have come across several cases where the interested parties ‘bought’ the opinion of some obliging (unscrupulous) fortune-teller in support of the

marriage proposal, (even though the stars of the boy and girl were not agreeable) with disastrous consequences.
Ancient achatyas have said that with Venus in 7th house, an individual gets a beautiful and charming wife. If we apply the same rule to bride too, it can be said that a girl with Venus in the 7th house would get a bridegroom, who would be handsome, with a pleasant personality.
Another general rule is that if a male Rasi (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius or Aquarius) is in the 7th house, the spouse would be tall, and if a female Rasi is in the 7th house, the spouse would be of medium height. The question of height would very much depend on the climate of the region where the boy or the girl were born and raised. There are exceptions too, to this rule.
Similarly, the impression is that Gemini, Virgo, Libra, and Pisces in the 7th house get the individual a fair complexioned spouse. This is all a relative term, because in countries nearer to equator, how much fairness would be found in the residents, and in countries above thirty-three degree latitude away from equator, it would be difficult to find dark complexioned original residents. Likewise, original German nationals are very tall, in some countries we find residents very short in height. Therefore while giving a prediction about height or complexion of a matrimonial match, these considerations should be kept in mind.

If Rasis owned by Mars or Saturn is in the 7th house and its lord is in the 2nd, 8th , or the 12th house, a quarrel or fight or even battle is possible. It is so at least during the mahadasa of Venus and antardasa of Mars or Saturn (as the owner of the 7th house), or mahadasa of Mars or Saturn (as the owner of the 7th house) and antardasa of Venus, which might give origin to the quarrel or fight etc. If Saturn or retrograde Mars is in the 2nd, 8th or the 12th house by transit, ever then a quarrel, fight or battle might occur. If Rahu be in the 2nd , 8th or 12th house, it might create a temporary shadow of quarrel or fight, but it becomes solvable or compromisable or end-able (sorry for framing our own terms to give correct exposition to the subject matter).
History is replete with numerous examples, in India and elsewhere, about great battles and wars fought on account of women. The Hindu epic Ramayana has it that the kidnapping of Rama’s beautiful wife Sita, by the demon-king Ravana led to the destruction of the demon clan entirely. In the other great epic, Mahabharata, lovely and proud princess Draupadi’s insult by Duryodhana and his brother Dushshashana lead to such .a war that within a short period of 18 days virtually the majority male population at least of North India was wiped out.

No more examples are needed. It is indeed a very difficult task to predict battles and wars between countries, nations, different races; very high quality of knowledge experience and insight is needed for this.
But the 7th house is directly and importantly concerned with wars and battles. Experience shows that Venus in the 7ffi house with planetary details stated above (outside the paragraphs in italics) can cause grounds for separation between husband and wife, and ultimately lead to divorce. It may be after a regrettable fight in a court of law or a mutual fight between the two families of husband and wife or between the husband and wife themselves. If there is any other soft planet in the 7th house, like Mercury or Jupiter, the divorce can be by mutual consent too. Otherwise, if the 7th house is owned by a soft planet and the owner is sitting in the 4th or the lst house, or even in the 5th house, there can be divorce by mutual consent.
One more point may be noted in this regard that the very presence of Mars, or Saturn in the 7th house (irrespective of the Rasi in the 7th house) along with Venus there, would make the marriage a non-workable one, unless the concerned charts of spouse contain countermanding stars. It is always better to the position of stars in mind while matching horoscopes for age, irrespective of the fact whether it is the first or second a third marriage of the individual.
Now, where does the difficulty arise? Firstly in the case of love-based marriages. One cannot first go and get the horoscope of the opposite sex for marriage and then initiate the love affair. Further, in India as well as many other countries people are losing faith in the matching of horoscopes for marriage, because of large failures of marriage after cursory (computer) matching of the horoscopes and secondly, because of families getting uprooted from their original community-base.
