This is one of the important houses for Mercury ; it can be said that Mercury and Jupiter function as the real masters of this house. However, Mercury is not very effective in so far as drishti (aspecting) is concerned. From 5th house, Mercury would have direct drishti on the 11th house, which concerns income. Mercury would not influence the 11th house to any great extent inspite of its direct drishti on the 11th house from the 5th house. One can often find learned scholars, authors, poets, editors, dialogue-writers for films, professors, teachers, priests and preachers in rather tight or hand-to-mouth financial position, often depending on others for financial help, for medical treatment and marriages in family.
